Hola Familia!

How was Navidad for everyone? I imagined all day what you all were doing & I'll betcha I was pretty right because we're like the most predictable people when it comes to holidays. Haaha! What did everyone get? Cheryl gave me a little overview... Thanks Cher! Did you play some guitar hero and eat lots of shrimp? I think I'll have orange sticks covered for a while. I have 4 boxes sittting in my room right now. Haha!

I just really want to thank everyone for the Christmas box. I know it was mostly Cec, but I know you all had a hand in it. I waited until Christmas morning to openi it, that about killed me. My roommates and I had our own little Christmas on Saturday morning. It was pretty fun. I kind of get the sense that you're all trying to make me gain weight! Haha! It's okay it sounds like I'm going to need it once I get to Argentina. A girl came in and talked to us about it. Apparently it's going to be really really hot, probably about 100 degrees most of the year and really humid. Sweet! We all know how I handle Lake Powell. Also, I'm going to be a freak down there. Just because I'm so tall and red-headed! Haha! She actally said that straight out.

I want to thank you all for the letters and the prayers. This sounds so cliche, but I can literally feel them. I'm working really hard to write all of you back but it's rediculously hard. They give us like zero time. I love and acknowledge all of your encouragement, please don't stop letting me know what's going on. Honestly I'm proabably not going to respond to each one. I'm sorry, I still want to hear what ya'll are doing! Congrats on getting done with finals Alex, Becca, and Cam! Al Bal did you end up passing your math class? Cam how'd you do on your's? How's next semester looking fo you? Jar Bear- ya lint licker! Cher Bear, thanks for the letter, tell Cub I laughed my head off, but seriously, the MTC at Christmas is completely over-rated!!! Thanks so much for the pictures! I would rather have print-outs because it's really hard to see them on computer, plus then I can't have them. I'm glad the boys loved their presents. It makes me so sad to know that they're growing up so fast. I miss them sooooo much! Cec, congrats on all of the aprons you sold. I'm so proud of you!!! Thank you so much for mine too!!! I love it!!! Your cookies were a hit with my companion! She loves them! I need to hear all of your news!

Anyways this week has been interesting. We went to the TRC last Wed. We taught a guy who would only speak to us in Spanish. He was supposed to speak to us in English because, let's be honest, we've only been here 2 weeks at that point. To say the least, it was rough. We could only pick out bits and pieces about what he was saying. He evenutally put us out of our misery and let us leave! haha! A bit of Argentina perhaps? Holy crap I'm scared!!

My Spanish is coming along. It's amazing to see how much I can understand. Everyday my understanding increases. I wish my speaking would. Our teachers speak to us primarily in Spanish. None of them served in Argentina though so I'm kinda scared for the whole accent thing. Not only that but because of the holidays we've been run through about 7 subtitutes and everyone has a different accent. Sheesh.

Christmas Eve was business as usual pretty much. We had a devotional with the MTC presidency, so it was pretty anti-climatic. Especially because thy had us all excited for a GA. We did sing the 12 days of Christmas missionary style. It's amazing the entertainment you get out of stupid things here! The MTC messes with your head! Haha! I miss music soooo much!!! Tell Cam to put disney songs on there too!! Any Church music is fine. I really like the Joseph Smith CD's too!

On Christmas Day I woke up and opened my presents. Then we had a 3 hour talent show. That was fun. Then later in the day Elder Nelson came and talked to us. Sister Nelson came the next day, to Relief Society. I got to shake here hand and tell her my name is Wendy, so is her's so that was fun! She's actually from Raymond Canada! Anways it ended up being cool. It just seemed like we skipped Christmas though. Ever since then it's been business as usual.

This past week I've become really close to my companion and to my district. I never thought I could love people so much in such a short amount of time. Anyways. That's pretty much it. I can't believe none of you had a comment about me getting hit on by an Elder! Haha!

Anyways, I love you guys! I'll write you individually later!

Love you,

Hermana Evans

Hola Familila!
How are things? First of all I just want to thank all of you for all of the love and support.  I really believe that I have the best family around.  You have no idea what it means to have family support.  There are a lof of people who don't have that. My roommate is one of them.  She's from Alaska.  Christmas is supposed to be awesome here.
Cheryl asked me what I do in gym everyday.  I'm a volleyball fiend.  I'm getting really good, I can even compete with the Elders.  My district is awesome.  I love all of them.  There are 6 Elders and 4 of us sisters.  They have become my family.  PS Cami you're going to get a letter from one them.  He's not weird I promise. ;) I got hit on for the first time by an Elder the other day.  We just struck up a conversation after Sacrament meeting about sports and stuff before the mission.  Anyways he was leaving the next day for Costa Rica and promised to say goodbye.  He never was able to to so he wrote me a letter telling me that I was "tight" and he gave me his email address and asked if we could get to know each other better.  So that's cool I guess.
On Sunday we got to watch the Joseph SMith movie and had a presentation about him.  I can't even express how much I love that man.  My Spanish is coming along.  Below is my testimony to you which is also my Christmas gift.  It's amazing the stuff I'm starting to understand.

I wish I were there with you.  Christmas is my favorite!

Feliz Navidad!
Love Hermana Evans
PS Cheryl I'm going to get really mad if I don't get pictures soon! Kiss my nephews for me and eat a lot of shrimp and orange sticks!
Yo se que El Evangelio de Jesucristo es verdado.  Se que esto es verdad porque ore y Dios contesto mi oracion.  Dios nos ama.  Gracias de este testimonion puedo superar desasfios! Love you!!

Hey all
We just got back from the temple a few hours ago.  LaVell Edwards was in our session so that was good.  My companion, like I said is from Morgan.  My comp was actually on the drill team.  She's awesome.  I feel like I've known her for years.  Spanish is hard.  That's all I'm going to say.  It's hard enough to teach in English, but just add another language on top of it and it pretty much complicates things.  We taught the fist lesson in Spanish yesterday.  To say the least it was rough.  The 6:30 am thing hasn't been that bad, I've actually done pretty well.  It's the going to bed at 10:30 that's hard.  I got the package yesterday.  Thanks! Thanks for the cookies and the SPK's!!! You guys are the best. Tell Cec they look awesome and tell Becca thank you!  Last night was our devotional.  Elder Peiper from the 70 came.  He is that guy that Kim worked with in Russia, he is an amazing guy.  I'm also singing in the MTC choir.  Something that I thought that I would never do.  I do it mostly for my companion.  Well you've been asking about my schedule.  Let me just tell you, Alex and Jared are so right about the prison thing.  Except I think people in prision have more freedom, they can at least watch TV and listen to music.  Haha! We pretty much get up in the morning, get ready, eat breakfast, study or go to class, eat breakfast, study and go to more class, have gym time somewhere in there, go to dinner and have more study or class.  I'm trying to think of the questions you asked me, but I can't think of any and I only have 10 minutes.  I'll have to write you a letter with the stuff I forgot.  Thanks for all of the letters and the support.  You'll be hearing from me soon I'm sure.

Wendy
Hi Everyone!  It's Cheryl...we wanted you be able to keep track of Wendy's adventures while she is in Argentina so we put this blog together.

Wendy entered the MTC on December 8th.  She is scheduled to be there for 9 weeks, leaving for Argentina on February 7, 2011.  We miss her like crazy, but are so excited for her to teach the people of Argentina the gospel.
